Job Description:
Sr. Infrastructure Engineer should be based in Tempe, Boston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Austin, Santa Clara. The successful candidate can expect to spend 20% of their time on Tier 4 escalations, 70% of their time on project work and 10% of their time on researching technologies that will be beneficial to the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain multi-petabyte-scale storage services, using Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS), and perform data protection activities according to customer standards; ensure that appropriate storage tiers with sufficient capacity is available as needed.
- Provide installation and configuration, as well as incident / problem resolution, in collaboration with hardware and software vendors as required.
- Manage the configuration and administration of high performance, mass storage arrays in SAN deployment and configuration in an Enterprise Infrastructure
- Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent storage provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance, and data protection.
- Troubleshoot storage utilizing Fiber Channel, Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), NFS and CIFS protocols
- Deploy and maintain new Data Center infrastructure
- Rack, stack, and wire servers, power distribution units, and switches
- Install servers, switches, routers, and storage hardware.
- Submit RMA to equipment manufacturers and ship and receive gear to and from remote locations and vendors
- Submit and track remote work requests and managing server and component inventory
- Diagnose and repair hardware and performing upgrades, integrations, rebuilds and other projects as needed
- Debug network, hardware, and Linux OS related issues
- Recommend solutions and alternatives to obtain efficiencies within the platform, enhancing systems stability, reliability, and availability.
- Provide Tier3/Tier4 technical support for escalated incidents, assist Engineer and Operations team with project related and break-fix infrastructure tasks as needed.
