Job Description:
The Servicing Associate candidate will be responsible for assisting with various functions within the Servicing Oversight area, which will include the following:
Responsibilities:
- Supporting resolution on internal escalations and inquiries by working with servicer to facilitate action and obtain required information.
- Monitoring past due accounts and tracking servicer activity related to collections, forbearance, loss mitigation, or liquidation related actions
- Reviewing documentation, analyzing and preparing appropriate recommendation for loss mitigation paths, including hardship modifications (non-delegated servicing decision).
- Creating and preparing ongoing reports related to default management, with ongoing loan level review of past due accounts
- Coordinating and obtaining information from the vendor as per business needs and internal requests received from various business partners (including Operational Risk, Compliance, Credit/QC)
- Assisting with assessments (testing) of sub-servicer activities of key functions related to servicing, including default management
- Creating, tracking, and reporting of requests submitted to the vendor from various internal sources, including requests received from the vendor for consideration
- Tracking issues reported to the vendor and driving resolution of remediation action plans with subservice
- Performing backup support to other roles in the Servicing Area
- Participating in ad hoc projects as needed and assisting management with requests related to servicing oversight
- Additional responsibilities as required by management
Required Skills:
- Great customer experience skills and ability to successfully manage multiple time sensitive requests
- 2 to 5 years of experience within mortgage servicing requirements, including loan administration and default management
- Working knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines related to mortgage servicing, with focus of default management activities
- Must have a working knowledge of mortgage documents and an understanding of the mortgage life cycle
- Adhere to turn time commitments while working in a high-volume environment
- College degree preferred
- Has partnered with a wide variety of clients, including senior-level business leaders and seasoned professional candidates
- Has experience hiring in an organization focused on cultivating a diverse workforce
- Excellent organization skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills – must be familiar with how to navigate a Microsoft Windows environment and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- High level of Accuracy and Detail Oriented/multitasking
- Must have excellent teamwork orientation and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
